Beaches

One of the main attractions to the Costa Blanca are the beautiful beaches, and the Levante and Poniente beaches of Benidorm are one of the favorites. These beaches are a year round attraction thanks to the mild weather. Until the tourist industry began in the 1960s, Benidorm was a small village. Today it stands out for its hotel industry, beaches and skyscrapers, which were built as a result of its tourist-oriented economy. Benidorm has three major beaches: Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas; all of them have a blue flag, the maximum quality standard recognised by the European Union.

Levante Beach

Between Punta Pinet and Punta Canfali, a wide bay of more than two kilometres long shapes, with an urban beach, being without a doubt, one of the most bustling and crowded beaches in the Mediterranean coast. Thanks to its orientation, sunbathing until late in the afternoon in summer and until the sun sets in winter is possible. It has fine and golden sand and clear waters, and is decorated with palms giving it a very attractive aspect. The beach is delimited by a well cared waterfront, where restaurants, cafés and pubs follow one another. Beach adapted to people with reduced mobility.

Poniente Beach

This beach of more than three kilometres long, with clear waters and fine golden sand, whose succession of palms makes it more attractive, if that is possible, extends from the port to the headland known as Cabezo del Tosal. Both the beach and the waterfront delimiting it show a bustling aspect at any time of the day. Beach adapted with all necessary facilities to people with reduced mobility.

Mal Pas Cove

This small creek with fine and golden sand showing a quieter ambience and dividing the crowed Levante and Poniente beaches is located between Punta Canfali and the port. In front of the beach is Isla Benidorm, which shelters a submerged platform known as La Llosa, an important Marine Reservation with excellent sea bottoms being a real present for diving keens.

La Almadrava Beach

Natural creek with fine sand and boulders located in a rustic environment at the bottom of Sierra Helada. Its clear waters and rocky sea bottom attract diving keens.

Ti Ximo Cove

The northern coast in Benidorm is very uneven and inaccessible from land because of the enormous cliffs delimiting the spectacular Sierra Helada massif. But in the last stretch, between Punta de La Escaleta and Punta Pinet, small sandy and stony creeks follow one another offering beautiful rocky sea bottoms very suitable for diving.
